Day 1 : Beirut – Rome. Departure Beirut. Arrival Rome and transfer to Hotel. Overnight hotel in Rome.
Day 2 : Rome-Assisi-Siena-Florence. Departure at 07.15 from the hotel to Assisi. Arrival and free time at disposal to visit this tiny town, with its famous Basilica of St. Francis. Then continue to Siena. This medieval town is surrounded by ancient walls and is known for the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, the town square, famous for hosting the Palio horse race. Arrival to Florence. Dinner and overnight hotel in Florence.
Day 3 : Florence. Visit of this beautiful city where the Italian genius for art reached its pinnacle. Florence flourished in the Middle Ages as a free commune. Furtherly refined by Renaissance, Florence is known as the “cradle of Renaissance” (la culla del Rinascimento) for its monuments, churches and buildings. The best-known site and crowning architectural jewel of Florence is the domed cathedral of the city, Santa Maria del Fiore known as The Duomo that will be visited. The magnificent dome was built by Filippo Brunelleschi. Then proceed to the nearby Campanile tower (partly designed by Giotto) and the Baptistery with the golden bronze doors. These were so beautiful that they were called the “Gates of Paradise” by Michelangelo himself. In the heart of the city there is Piazza della Signoria. Lunch in typical Tuscan restaurant in Piazza Santa Croce Free afternoon, possibility to visit Pisa (optional), with its famous Leaning Tower. Overnight hotel in Florence.
Day 4 : Florence-Bologna-Padova-Venice. In the morning departure to Bologna with its elegant and extensive arcades (or porticos), for which the city is famous. In total, there are some 38 kilometres of arcades in the city’s historical centre. Then proceed to admire Bologna: the Neptune Square ,King Renzo Palace, Podesta Palace, and of course the basilica of San Petronio, one of the biggest in the world. During construction it was intended to be larger than St. Peter’s in Rome. In the afternoon continue towards Padova, with its original Sant’ Antonio Basilica. In the evening, arrival in Venice, world-famous for its gondola (classic venetian boat) and for its elegant and refined art. Dinner and overnight hotel in Venice.
Day 5 : Venice. Transfer by motorised waterbuses (vaporetti) to St Mark Square. Visit includes : St Mark Square and the Doge’s Palace (external), symbol of the glory and the authority of Venice. Cross to the Bridge of Sighs, where Casanova had been sentenced to 5 years imprisonment. At the end of the tour, there will be a stop at the famous Murano glass factory. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight hotel in Venice.
Day 6 : Venice-Region of Chianti-Montepulciano /Tuscany-Rome. Departure to the famous Region of Chianti in Tuscany. Chianti is a vast geographic area from the hilly landscape , placed between Siena and Florence. The fascination of this territory lies in the perfect equilibrium between the soft forms of slopes and the thousand nuances of color and crowded woods. In this area there is the biggest production of wine. The most famous is the Chianti Classico, made with the white and the black grapes. Then, stop at Montepulciano, famous city situated in the north of Val D’Orcia, known for its wine, the Brunello (famous red worldwide wine). It is possible to buy it in the wine house of the town. Tasting of local wine. Lunch in a typical restaurant, after lunch, quick stop to spend some free time. In the evening arrival in Rome. Overnight at the hotel in Rome.
Day 7 : Rome – Vatican – Rome. Departure from the hotel at 07.45 am and Take the tour of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica and jump the queue! No stress to reach the area: upon arrival, your guide will lead you into the museums where you’ll visit one of the most important art collection of the world. Admire the beautiful spiral stairway, the gallery of tapestries and geographical maps, before arriving at the famous Sistine Chapel. The tour includes the visit of St. Peter’s Basilica (the visit ends in the city centre). Explore the rest of the city at your own leisure Return to the hotel. Overnight hotel in Rome.
Day 8 : Rome – Beirut. Check out from hotel and transfer to airport to board flight to Beirut.
